Autumn is in full swing here in Canada - our Thanksgiving is done and the leaves have turned to vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. A good reminder for me to get out and enjoy the crisp, fresh air that’s great for invigorating walks in the woods. My daily walking routine has been interrupted the past two months - something I’ll write about in the weeks ahead and it’s directly related to why you haven’t heard from me lately. Stay tuned.

📑 How to have great meetings, according to 200 scientific studies: “[A]ttendees rate as many as half of the meetings they attend as ‘poor,’ and organizations in the US waste an estimated $213 billion on ineffective meetings annually.” There are some great tips in this pre-pandemic article. With meeting volume having increased in remote and hybrid workplaces, a very real problem is too many meetings that consume the time and energy for good before and after actions. And it’s a self-reinforcing cycle. I’m doing some reflection on my own patterns after reading this.
